Your leadership career in Canada’s not-for-profit and community-service sector just got a little brighter

Do you have a successful career providing leadership in the nation’s not-for-profit and community-service sector? Would you like to sharpen your trailblazing skills creating transformative and systemic change in society and in the communities you serve?

The KPMG Foundation Community Leader Scholarship provides full tuition to one learner in Athabasca University (AU) Online MBA for Executives’ program. Applicants must have a proven track record of leadership in the not-for-profit and community-service sector, meet the AU MBA’s admissions criteria, and be able to begin their studies in August 2018.

$50,000 Scholarship

Specific to learners in Athabasca University (AU) Online MBA for Executives’ program, the recipient of this uniquely tailored scholarship, valued at up to $50,000, will have their tuition and other program expenses covered by the KPMG Foundation Community Leader Scholarship, including travel and attendance costs at one in-residence elective in Canada or at an international location, to be determined.

Above all, the scholarship is designed to complement the learner’s proven leadership ability in making a difference across their organization and transforming the lives and communities they help each day, using their skills in service, as well as the higher-education business skills they acquire and harness from Athabasca University.

“Athabasca University’s MBA links theory to practice and allows learners from all sectors to realize immediate benefits both in their careers and within their organizations. That’s something our learners, our alumni, and our stakeholders continually tell us,” says Dr. Deborah Hurst, Dean of AU’s Faculty of Business.

“For those working in Canada’s not-for-profit sector, the need for strong leadership and management is critical. Organizations are trying to ensure every penny spent makes a difference. It can sometimes be hard for not-for-profits or community-services to divert funding from providing service to investing in staff. This scholarship will make a life-changing difference for the recipient, their organization, and the communities they serve.”
