The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is composed of seven modules that have been designed by experienced fundraising professionals to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face every day. This program includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. This intensive program offers a complete overview of the development function, featuring the most current information and techniques. The course will provide an overview of skills, techniques, and program components for individuals with 0 to 4 years of fundraising experience.

Elisa Williams Schroen, CFRE

Senior Donor Relations Officer

After graduating from the Fundraising & Volunteer Management post-graduate program at Humber College in 2004, Elisa became part of the Leadership Giving team at the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, where she raised $2 million annually in small gifts towards cancer research. In 2008, Elisa obtained her CFRE designation. Since 2008, she has managed stewardship operations for the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine, where she recently implemented the first comprehensive donor recognition program for the Faculty of Medicine. Elisa is responsible for all aspects of donor stewardship, including all physical recognition, written stewardship reports and creating meaningful experiences for donors. Elisa is the mother of 3 babies: Peter, William, and the Donor Recognition Wall in the Medical Sciences Building.

Jennifer Williams, CFRE

Director of Advancement, Bloomberg Nursing

Jennifer Williams is a seasoned fundraiser with more than 10 years of experience in Healthcare and University fundraising.  As the Director of Advancement at Bloomberg Nursing, University of Toronto, Jen plays an integral role in all aspects of development and alumni relations.  Prior to her work with Bloomberg Nursing, Jen was with the Faculty of Medicine as a Senior Development Officer achieving significant major and planned gift targets.  A strong leader, collaborator and problem-solver, Jen provides insightful relationship management, helping to build a stronger philanthropic environment at the University of Toronto.
