AFP Career Planner

One of the most powerful tools for career development is right at your fingertips!

AFP Members have access to the AFP Career Planner on the AFP International website.  If you haven’t explored the Career Planner, then you are missing out on one of the most valuable benefits of your AFP membership.

This online resource provides:

Resource Database: For the first time, AFP offers a database containing fundraising educational offerings, both online and classroom, across the U.S. and Canada! The Career Planner resource database also contains more than 1,500 books, articles -- many of them full text, AFP Audioconferences, audiotapes, conferences, and conference sessions. These resources are searchable by location, key word, type of media, provider and learning objective.

Learning Objectives/Self Assessment: AFP has created a comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities of fundraising professionals, as identified in the AFP Practice Analysis research report, and corresponding learning objectives. The user can complete a self-assessment test to identify areas in which they need improvement. Once specific knowledge areas are identified, a member can use the software to identify one or more learning resources, including books, articles, audiovisual materials, courses, and degree programs.

Personal History/Planner: Each member will have their own Personal Planner. Within the Personal Planner, users can create comprehensive plans for their future educational activities, with specific resource information. Also within the Personal Scheduler will be a Record of Accomplishment. Within the Record of Accomplishment, users can record all completed educational activities. The software will store this information in chronological order by completion date.

Start building your skills and increase your professionalism.  Tour the AFP Career Planner online at http://www.afpnet.org/.  Log on to the Member Gateway to access the Career Planner area.  Take the self-assesment test and develop your roadmap to future success!
