DESCRIPTION
Are you being pressured to raise more money than ever before and don’t know where it will come from? Hear from two seasoned gift planning professionals on how to incorporate planned giving vehicles into your daily fundraising efforts and discover the benefits for both your donor and charity. If you are simply doing ‘cash gift’ fundraising, whether big or small, you are very likely leaving a pot of money on the table.
BIOGRAPHY
Linda Clemow, BAS, CFRE
Linda Clemow is Vice-President Philanthropy & Funds Development for the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. She’s held previous senior level positions at the IOOF Seniors Homes, Christian Children’s Fund, Providence Centre Foundation, Baycrest Centre Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and York County Hospital Foundation. Linda is education chair with the Planned Giving Counsel of Simcoe County, AFP member, and on the Editorial Advisory Board for Gift Planning in Canada. She is a past national board/executive member, Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP); Past-Chair, CAGP Toronto Roundtable; and Founding Chair of Toronto’s LEAVE A LEGACY program. She led the development of the Canadian Planned Giving curriculum for the CFRE survey course teaching for five terms, and is former faculty for the CAGP “Banff” course.
Jill Nelson, CFRE
Jill is the Director of Planned Giving for The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. She has over 15 years fundraising experience in health and social services, including 10 years as director of development for the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario Division and three years heading up planned giving at the Canadian Cancer Society’s Ontario Division. Jill is currently the Past Chair of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners’ Greater Toronto Area RoundTable.

TOPIC: Demystifying the Gift Planning Conversation: Tips to Help You Talk About Gift Planning from Introduction to Stewardship
PRESENTER: Linda Pearson
DESCRIPTION
In "Demystifying the Gift Planning Conversation", development professionals will receive tips on how to initiate a planned gift discussion, how to address common questions and overcome typical objections. You will leave the session with tips to help you deal wit the personal and technical nature of the gift planning conversation. A handout will be provided.
BIOGRAPHY
Linda Person, B.Sc., MA, MBA
Linda Pearson is Director of Gift Planning at the University of Toronto. Her past positions include: Manager, Personal Giving at the Canadian Cancer Society-Ontario Division; Director of Community Services, and then Director of Development at Lutherwood, a regional human services organization. Linda holds volunteer positions on the National Board of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) as Chair, Governance Committee; the Chair, RoundTable Committee; a national operational committee of CAGP-ACPDP and is Past Chair of the Greater Toronto Area CAGP*ACPDP RoundTable.
