This course explains how to engage donors at a deeper level so that their annual giving reaches maximum capacity. It will provide a framework for developing a successful individual major gifts program. Participants will learn through lectures, practical exercises, role-playing and a variety of resource materials.
Learning Objectives:
Following completion of the session participants will be able to:
1. Identify the three major goals of raising individual major gifts
2. Describe the three primary elements providing the foundation to a well-organized individual major gifts fundraising program
3. Identify the primary ways of finding individual major donors
4. Describe the process for developing a major gifts fundraising plan
5. Describe the relationship skills that are part of the cultivation process leading to major gifts
6. Describe the preparation and implementation necessary for securing individual major gifts
7. Describe the tools for evaluating fundraising process and results
Target Audience: Entry-level development officers, staff and board members of nonprofit organizations.
Participation in both live sessions qualifies for 4.0 points toward CFRE education requirements.
