Description
New donors and volunteers can be difficult to find in every sector. Having a program dedicated to the unearthing of new supporters and volunteers is essential for the long-term success of your organization. This session is designed to provide you with a structured, practical prospect and volunteer discovery process that can be adapted to fit your organization. You will also learn how to take the next steps required to move individuals towards a gift and/or volunteer participation.
About the Speaker
Larry Davies has been the Director of Alumni Affairs and University Advancement at Victoria University in the University of Toronto since 1983. For over 35 years, he has held primary responsibility for fundraising, planned giving, special events, marketing, communications and alumni programs in higher education. He has also served on the AFP Board, volunteered as a Big Brother, actively participated in federal politics and provided voluntary fundraising assistance to numerous small organizations.

This workshop will be of interest to the successful fundraiser who wants to learn more about Major Gift Philanthropy in Canada and the essential aspects of success – based on the latest publication – Face Time: Relationship Philanthropy. In addition to helping to strengthening the effectiveness of practitioners, attendees will also gain insights into the latest trends of Major Gifts in Canada
About the Speaker
Rob Peacock, M.A., CFRE is CEO of Peacock Philanthropic Counsel Inc., a non-profit management consulting firm specializing in major gift professional philanthropic counsel. Rob has more than 20 years of fundraising and volunteer management experience with a range of organizations, including University of Toronto, PC Canada, Ryerson University, and Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation. He holds a Masters degree in Philanthropy and served on the faculty of Humber College’s Fundraising and Volunteer Management Program. Rob is Past Chair of AFP’s International Development Committee, Past Chair of AFP’s Canada Council, and has served on the Board of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Board of Visitors for the Institute of Charitable Giving in the United States. Rob has just published a book entitled Face Time: Relationship Philanthropy (A Resource for Canadian Major Gift Fundraising).
