Workshop Topic: The Five Indispensible Talents of Leadership Fundraising

Presenter: Elaine Stirling, Corporate Communication Consultant

Description:

The even better news is, you were born with most of them! Drawing from her new book, The Corporate Storyteller: A Writing Manual & Style Guide for the Brave New Business Leader, Elaine Stirling will guide you through Responsibility, Capacity, Curiosity, Audacity and Authority – and will show you how to apply the five talents with elegance.

About the Speaker:

Corporate communication consultant and author Elaine Stirling has been writing professionally for more than 20 years. Currently an instructor at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, Elaine has taught Business and Creative Writing at colleges and universities across Canada. Her corporate clients include banks, business schools, hospital foundations, government agencies and NGOs. Her blog at www.elainestirling.com is read in more than 40 countries. She is the author of ten novels and her newly published book is, The Corporate Storyteller: A Writing Manual & Style Guide for the Brave New Business Leader.

Luncheon Topic: Building Credibility Through Personal Presence

Presenter: Nadia Baboo, The Image Factor

Description:

People do business with people they trust. Now, more than ever, with budgets tightened and resources low, credibility needs to be established immediately and nurtured continually with potential donors. In this session, participants will learn how to establish, build and maintain their credibility through their personal presence, strong communication and relationship-building tools.

  • Build and maintain rapport with others.
  • Demonstrate effective use of verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate influential conversational skills. 

About the Speaker:

Nadia Baboo is an image and personal branding expert. A seasoned coach, speaker and writer, Nadia takes her clients from invisible to outstanding by helping them to build confidence in themselves and with others through strong communication, presentation and personal presence. She has 15 years experience in the image industry coupled with a strong training and public relations background. Nadia has led motivating workshops for companies in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. She has appeared on Rogers Television’s Daytime, Careers in York and Insights, CityTV's Breakfast Television and CBC's The Gill Deacon Show. She also founded Fairview’s Personal Style Program, exclusive to Fairview Mall in Toronto
