George A. Fierheller, C.M., B.A., D.S. Litt., LL.D.

George refers to himself as a ‘used executive’. He retired from being Vice Chairman of Rogers Communications in 1996. A volunteer for just about everything, he has been Chair, Board of Governors, Carleton University, Chair, Finance Committee, Simon Fraser, on the Executive Committee of the National Arts Centre, Chair, Toronto Board of Trade and is a Director of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and Chair, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Capital Campaign.He has chaired the United Way campaigns in Ottawa, Vancouver and Toronto.

He is author of several books including one on Voluntarism – I Gave At The Office. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Order of Canada.
