Purpose of Position:

Responsible for providing national support for the Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes Program.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review/analyze revenue reports and report variances to the VP, Chapter Relations. Assist in identifying “in-need” markets and support the staff and volunteers in these communities to help them achieve their goals.
  • Analyze data (though proper business reviews) to provide insight and strategies into measurement of chapter’s progress and growth opportunities with the various events. Analyze the growth of sponsorships, family teams and corporate teams seeking trends that will assist all sites in growing their events in line with long term and short term organizational plans.
  • Responsible for developing and executing all Walk training programs for the field staff on a national scope in collaboration with the Chapter Relations team.
  • Support the field staff in building and executing their strategic plans where necessary.
  • In collaboration with the VP, Chapter Relations, manage the National Walk Volunteer Committee.
  • Coordinate and manage all communications to the Chapter staff in relation to best practices and account management updates.
  • Identify new development opportunities for Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes and various trends in other National Walk programs that could enhance the Walk program.
  • Management of staff directly or indirectly based on the needs of the department.
  • Participate in on-going strategic planning within the Foundation
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and executing full cycle National Fundraising Programs
  • College/university certificate/diploma in Fundraising, Event Planning, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years event planning or equivalent experience

Must Demonstrate the Following:

  • Project coordination, planning and management skills
  • Influence in directing others to execute national programs
  • Familiarity with budget planning
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and communications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing and changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Windows: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and a working familiarity with database programs
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a multi-level organization
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
