The Honourable Margaret Norrie McCain, O.C.

Margaret Norrie McCain has served her country as Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick and is an Officer of the Order of Canada. In addition to her Bachelor of Art Degree from Mount Allison University and Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Toronto, she also holds honorary degrees from several Canadian universities.

She is the largest individual donor to The Learning Partnership, a member of the Canadian Women’s Foundation, the founding member of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation in New Brunswick, and a long-time supporter and volunteer with the National Ballet School.

A recipient of the 2005 YWCA Women of Distinction award for Philanthropy and Volunteerism, the Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Award, the Centre for Excellence for Early Child Development Award and the 100 Most Powerful Canadian Women Award.

In 2006, The Honourable Margaret Norrie McCain received the Outstanding Philanthropist Award from the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter.
