The Rotary Club of Toronto

Rotary Club International Wheel

Founded in 1912, The Rotary Club of Toronto has become Canada's largest Rotary Club with more than three hundred members. Over the years it has played a leading role in philanthropy in Toronto.

For more than 80 years, The Rotary Club of Toronto, through it's initiatives has assisted tens of thousands of Torontonians. In those eight decades, the Club has been responsible for the development of historical organizations such as Bolton camp, Easter Seals Society of Ontario, and the United Way of Greater Toronto.

After World War II, the Club became involved in the building campaign for the new Hospital for Sick Children, the founding of CARE Canada and Youth Employment Services (YES).

The Club's *latest project is the funding of a Mobile Health Unit for Wellesley Hospital. The Club has pledged $500,000 to this project with an initial $50,000 first payment presented to the Hospital's CEO Scott Rowand at the Club's December 15, 1995 luncheon.

In addition to its major projects the Club's Foundation provides grants to over 30 charities in Greater Toronto yearly. Grants total over $200,000 and through its research and appeals committee provides an additional $75,000 to local and international programs.

As a symbol of civic leadership, The Rotary Club of Toronto has stood the test as an organization that Toronto and Torontonians can look to with pride.
