Outstanding New Fundraising Professional 2001
Ms. Jessica Cunningham

This Year marks the launch of a new award created by the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter to recognize an outstanding new fundraising professional. The award is designed to salute individuals who have displayed exceptional talent and demonstrated outstanding achievements as they set out on a career as a fundraising professional. It is hoped the award will encourage the recipients and their professional colleagues to continue striving for excellence as their careers develop.
Jessica Cunningham has been Director of Development at Opera Ontario Atelier since January 2000. She worked previously with the National Ballet of Canada as Membership Co-ordinator and Development Officer, Major Gifts. Jessica demonstrates the essential characteristics of a good fundraiser: genuine enthusiasm, efficient work habits and a willingness to listen to donors and volunteers. At Opera Atelier, she has secured significant sponsorship for a new campaign. She does volunteer work for both the National Ballet and the Toronto HUmane Society and is working toward certification as a fundraising professional.
