Rob Drynan Named Recipient of the 2009 New Fundraising Professional Award

Toronto, ON – April 28, 2009 – The Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Toronto Chapter is pleased to announce that Rob Drynan, Executive Director of Camp Oochigeas, has been named the recipient of the 2009 New Fundraising Professional Award.  Rob Drynan was selected to receive this prestigious award, for his outstanding contributions to enriching the lives of children with cancer, and for demonstrating nonprofit leadership competence driven by innovation, productivity and motivation.

Under the executive leadership of Rob Drynan, Camp Oochigeas’ fundraising revenue tripled, resulting in a 300% increase in programming and an expense ratio of approximately $0.15 per dollar raised on fundraising and administration. Rob has been responsible for all revenue generation and expense management at the organisation and over the past five years, his team has grown from 5 to 19 staff members.

                                             

Prior to joining Champ Oochigeas in 2004, Rob owned and operated his own marketing consulting firm and worked as an account manager at Cossette Communications group. Rob’s rich volunteer history demonstrates his personal and professional dedication to community values and development. Rob is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood Toronto and has previously volunteered for CultureLink, Toastmasters and Camp Oochigeas. He is a member of the Emerging Leaders Network – Toronto City Summit Alliance, BoardWorx Executive Director Network, Children’s Oncology Camping Association and Canadian Association of Pediatric Oncology Camps.

 

Established in 2001, the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter New Fundraising Professional Award recognizes a full-time fundraising professional who has displayed exceptional talent and demonstrated outstanding achievement early in his/her career.  The recipient has between two and five years of experience in fundraising and is selected through submissions from Chapter members. The award encompasses career achievements, long and short term career objectives, personal volunteer service and a commitment to the profession.
