The Dorothy Ley Hospice offers both community and residential care to people living with a life-limiting illness or loss. The goal is to enable individuals to live their life to the fullest in comfort, with dignity, meaning and hope. Last year, the Hospice served nearly 2,500 individuals. The Dorothy Ley Hospice receives just over $2 million annually from the Province and continues to raise $1 million annually in support of its work.
The Dorothy Ley Hospice is looking to fill this permanent full time role with an individual who will share responsibility for the Hospice’s fund development programs. The Senior Development Officer will work in partnership with a fund-raising colleague and the Hospice’s Fund Development Committee to develop and realize the Hospice’s Fund Development strategy and annual plans. The successful individual will have a proven track record in maintaining and building donor and stakeholder relations through effective stewardship and donor recognition programs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in meeting revenue targets.
The Dorothy Ley Hospice is seeking a detailed and deadline oriented individual with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in fundraising, with demonstrated knowledge of effective fundraising across multiple fundraising vehicles and marketing strategies. The successful candidate will have the ability to set and exceed goals, possess excellent interpersonal skills, have experience working with volunteers, and possess sound database management knowledge. A CFRE designation and AFP or CAGP membership is considered an asset.
