Job Description

THE ORGANIZATION

Since its inception, the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation has raised over $100 million in support of its world-class hospital and the more than 3 million patients who have come for comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Due to the kindness and generosity of many, patients have and will benefit from a number of milestone achievements, including the opening of the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre in 2010 where more than 10,000 people have received their cancer treatment closer to home, and the $16 million “Images for Life” campaign to upgrade diagnostic imaging services that will result in 5,000 additional MRI scans every year.  The Foundation is also embarking on a vision to provide comprehensive palliative care and residential hospice services with a $12 million “love lives here” campaign supporting the build of the Margaret Bahen Hospice offering a comfortable, home-like environment for approximately 250 patients to live out their final days.

But there is still more to be done.  As the community grows and changes, so, too, do the needs of the Hospital and, subsequently, the Foundation as together they focus on transforming the lives of the next 3 million patients.

The Foundation and Hospital Boards and staff are working closely together to create an exciting new chapter of philanthropy for the community.  Incorporating the best management and governance practices that will better integrate Foundation and Hospital teams at all levels, Southlake is preparing to launch the next 10-year phase of fundraising including:  building capacity within the Foundation; fostering a shared culture of philanthropy; extending the base of support in the community/region; and building/communicating Southlake’s strong brand.

Vision

Be the leader in transformative philanthropy.  At Southlake Foundation, we fundraise with one goal in mind — supporting our world-class hospital and the community it serves. As our community grows and changes, our hospital and our Foundation fundraising goals grow too — always looking forward to ensure that we are serving our current and future patients best. Our donors are our partners, helping us transform lives in York Region and surrounding communities, one gift at a time.

Values

Integrity:  We keep the promises we make; we do what we say we will do; we tell the truth; we are open and transparent; we hold ourselves accountable for the trust and responsibilities we have been given; we are wise stewards of all the resources that have been entrusted to us.

Collaboration:  We embrace diversity and difference; we listen to and respect each individual and the ideas, feelings, and perspectives they have; we include and consult with others when solving problems, making decisions, and planning; we coordinate plans; we encourage and support the contributions of others; we achieve common goals together.

Innovation:  We are open to change; we look for new challenges and better ways of doing things; we explore, experiment, and test; we learn; we continuously improve; we do quality work that is seen to set new standards; we initiate change; we excel.

Southlake Regional Health Centre

Southlake Regional Health Centre (SRHC) is a state-of-the-art, award-winning regional hospital offering advanced levels of care to the more than one million people who live in northern York Region and south Simcoe County.

In recent years, Southlake has successfully undergone tremendous transformation in order to establish a range of advanced clinical services “closer to home”.  Within the Ontario healthcare sector, Southlake has earned a reputation for being progressive, innovative, and for consistently achieving the status of “high performer”.

Embracing The Southlake Way, the award-winning organizational culture, SRHC’s team of more than 3000 employees, 575 physicians, and 1,100 volunteers are committed to providing each and every person who walks through the doors with a shockingly excellent experience.
