Planned Giving Specialist
Ontario Division | Location: Toronto
Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropic Giving, the Planned Giving Specialist is responsible for administering the planned giving program and supporting the work of the department in the identification, prospect research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of estates, planned gifts, individuals and other stakeholders. In addition, he/she will provide administrative support to the fundraising team on the facilitation of stock/security transfers nationally inclusive of assisting with database maintenance, ensuring accuracy, quality and integrity of data inputted.
Required Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in business and possess at least three (3) years of experience gained within a planned giving environment, ideally within the healthcare and/or non-profit sector. Excellent relationship management and communication skills are essential, with the successful candidate required to interact regularly with a wide range of stakeholders including donors, professional advisors and colleagues at all levels nationwide. A proven self-starter, he/she will be extremely organized, efficient and detail-oriented, operating with a sense of urgency in a busy environment. As such, the ability to prioritize conflicting workload demands and multi-task is essential. The ideal candidate will be extremely trustworthy and operate with the highest level of integrity, with a proven ability to exercise sound judgement. Given the nature of the portfolio, experience handling confidential information with the required discretion, care and compassion is a must.
