Senior Development Officer, Individual & Corporate Giving

It’s Training Institute and International Autism Symposium build professional capacity worldwide to empower all individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to reach their full potential.
Geneva Centre for Autism Foundation raises funds to support the mission of GCA. The Foundation has a history of strong event fundraising and support from many community and corporate foundations. As the need for autism services continues to increase so does the need for funding to meet those needs. The GCA Foundation is poised for growth, specifically in the areas of leadership and major giving. The Senior Development Officer will play a leadership role in driving this growth.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual who is an exceptional relationship manager with a proven track record in fundraising. In this new role and under the direction of the Director, Marketing and Development, the Senior Development Officer will be responsible for the planning and execution of all major giving activities. In addition, this role will oversee the direct marketing and monthly giving programs and provide leadership to the Foundation team on donor cultivation and stewardship. As a member of the Foundation team, the Senior Development Officer will provide support to all Foundation activities and events.
Leadership and Major Gifts (60%) – Identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of leadership and major donors by developing and implementing strategies; coordinating proposals; soliciting major gifts through mail and personal visits; and coordinating visits of other senior staff and volunteers to major donors.
Donor Stewardship (20%) - Develops, coordinates, implements, and monitors all aspects of donor recognition, stewardship, and cultivation. This includes donor listings, reports, etc. Develops, plans, and executes donor cultivation and stewardship activities for the Foundation. Works with marketing and communications team on the development and production of donor engagement and stewardship content and materials.
Annual Giving / Monthly Donors (10%) – Implementation of strategies for cultivation, solicitation and relationship management of annual and monthly donors. Work with marketing team to deliver direct mail campaigns.
Other (10%) – Supports all Foundation events and activities
Requirements to be considered for the role:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma (or equivalent experience), plus 5 years’ experience in fundraising with focus on major gifts
- Experience with engaging new prospects through independent research, prospect identification and personal engagement with proven success in developing and implementing comprehensive donor solicitation plans
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and experience with Raiser’s Edge or relational databases
- Organized, detailed oriented, with strong follow through
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as required to attend fundraising events and donor meetings.
