Job Description

The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall is a not-for-profit charitable organization operating two of Canada’s premier concert halls. Showcasing the world’s greatest performers in all disciplines, the Halls are also prominent venues for diverse activities in the business and entertainment district of downtown Toronto.  The Corporation is in the midst of an exciting evolution as phase one of its revitalization project is complete.  Phase two of planning and design is well underway, and plans are on target for completion by early 2018.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, you will work closely with the President, the senior management team, staff and the Board of Directors to provide leadership for all fundraising activities and ensure effective preparation and implementation of an annual development plan. Championing programs and services of the Corporation, you will maintain relationships with key donors and develop new partnerships.  You will work closely with programming, marketing and communications to ensure public awareness of fundraising and stewardship activities, and serve as an ambassador for the Corporation in the community.

The talented development professional that we are seeking will be passionate about the value of arts and culture in Toronto, and the importance of a strong development function to advance its mission.  Bring your interest in the arts and your track record of success in fundraising.  The successful candidate will have substantial leadership experience as well as major gift fundraising, stewardship and grant writing experience. Entrepreneurial and high energy, a compelling speaker and writer, you have the ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.
