In the role of Alumni Coordinator,
Develop and implement creative fundraising strategies and donor development programs to engage and involve our almost 16,000 alumni in meaningful ways.
Manage all aspects of the Alumni Relations office in order to advance the university’s goals and the strategic direction of the volunteer Alumni Association.
Plan, manage and evaluate all aspects of alumni activities such as class homecomings and chapter activities; alumni benefits, programs and services; and actively engage students with the Alumni Association.
Provide leadership and administrative support for the Alumni Association. You will recruit new members; create job descriptions; plan meetings; work closely with faculties, campus groups, volunteers and alumni to plan activities of benefit to university alumni; and represent the university at Alumni events.
Serve as managing editor and content coordinator of digital newsletter, web and social media, engaging alumni through these channels.
An outstanding written and verbal communicator with strong ability to convey complex information in a variety of formats.
Able to analyze problems and develop solutions in situations where established guidelines do not exist, and limited counseling is available.
Able to take a longer-term strategic approach to service provision, recommending new products/services and delivery mechanisms that are consistent with alumni needs and the university’s strategic direction.
Able to work independently without day-to-day direction, while following the goals and strategic direction of the department.
Committed to building and growing strong, long-term relationships with university alumni.
Self-motivated, energetic and creative.
• A degree in business, management or related discipline, or equivalent education, and at least seven years of relevant job experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Strong computer skills with ability to learn new programs (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge an asset).
• Strong ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to meet established goals.
• Experience working with volunteers.
