The Organization

CAMH is recognized as the organization leading the treatment, cure, and prevention of mental illness for Canada.  CAMH Foundation strives to be the charity of choice for mental health philanthropy by mobilizing a significant segment of the Canadian population offering donors and prospective donors multiple ways to engage with CAMH in support of mental health.

CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds that will empower CAMH to achieve its aspirations and change mental illness – locally and globally.

The Position

The Vice President, Corporate Partnerships and Strategic Events (title and overarching accountability TBD based on hired Candidate’s experience) will be responsible for directing and managing the full scope of fundraising activities related to Corporate Development and Events. This position is responsible for proactively developing/refining, executing, monitoring and evaluating corporate development and special/community events. Strong strategic ability is vital to success, as is high energy, creativity and innovative thinking.

A strategic decision maker and exceptional planner, our successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial and innovative self-starter who is able to calmly juggle multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.  A seasoned events strategist and corporate development professional who is able to anticipate and absorb the bumps in the road, this person will combine an optimistic attitude and a sense of urgency with a quick mind and a strong dose of common sense. With an eye for both the big picture and bottom line, s/he will balance the portfolio to efficiently maximize both revenue and costs.

Our successful candidate will be both a team leader and a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively to a wide diversity of people. A commitment to living by the Foundation’s values and to building and enhancing the culture will be critical and easily seen through your leadership style.

This role is part of the senior leadership team and will actively contribute to the development of the Foundation’s strategic plan, annual business plan, operations, culture and overall success.

This role will be accountable for a financial target of $7.5M in 2017/18 Fiscal.

  • Extremely effective interpersonal and relationship skills coupled with a professional presence and manner – confidence, poise, a well-developed ability to enable and engage with Senior Volunteers
  • An exceptional track record and experience in fundraising driven by innovation, effectively applied
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and be self-motivated in a complex and, at times, demanding work environment
  • Excellent organization, planning and time management skills with exacting attention to detail
  • Highly collaborative – enjoys helping team members succeed; a great listener; someone who can manage his/her own stress and is a positive contributor who likes to have fun
  • A love of leading people and has a track record of success developing talent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in strategic planning and superb critical and analytical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • A University degree and/or equivalent education and experience
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) an asset
