West Park Healthcare Foundation serves as the official fundraising vehicle of the West Park Healthcare Centre.  By relying on the generosity of individuals, companies and foundations, the hospital is able to fund innovative methods of treatment, leading-edge research, patient care technology and top tier facilities.  West Park is at the forefront in meeting one of the key healthcare challenges of the future: delivering advanced rehabilitative and complex continuing care to an aging population and to people living with chronic disease – while enhancing the quality of care and reducing costs in the healthcare system. 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, the Vice-President, Development will support the overall mission, vision and strategic directions of the West Park Healthcare Centre Foundation in support of the goals of the West Park campaign.  The Vice President will work in collaboration with the CEO and senior volunteers in continuation of its strategic fundraising plan that will enable West Park Foundation to realize aggressive growth goals while maintaining a long-term relationship-management approach to development.  The Vice President, Development will provide the leadership required to develop a high performing major gift program overseeing the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individuals, corporations, and foundations while also managing their own major gift pipeline.

As the ideal candidate, you have a progressive track record in both major gift fundraising preferably from within a health care or academic setting, and in staff management and leadership. You bring experience working with major and planned gifts including negotiating and closing expendable and endowed gifts.  You are creative in your approach to revenue generation and will focus your efforts on inspiring new donors through non-traditional methods.  You have the interest and aptitude to mentor and coach, to inspire and lead, and to manage change while fostering effective partnerships internally and across the broader healthcare sector. You will use all these skills and experiences to develop and implement revenue generation plans that will ensure both West Park’s short and long-term success.  A university degree is required; a CFRE designation and/or involvement in a professional fundraising association is preferred.
