Job Description

Partnership & Fundraising Associate

The Partnership & Fundraising Associate, with the CWA Foundation (Canadian Welding Association Foundation) will support increasing awareness of public safety in welding and addressing the welding labour shortage in Canada. With direction and support of the Executive Director, the Partnership & Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for the development of a fundraising plan, including prospect identification, cultivation and relationship building, and stewardship. This will also include preparing Case for Support, conduct prospect research, and prepare compelling grant applications and proposals.

This position can be based out of the Milton office or a home office anywhere in Canada.

The following are the qualifications for this position:

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline such as education, working with at-risk youth, social services, fundraising, government relations or equivalent combination of skills.

  • A solid understanding of the education system including elementary, secondary and post-secondary.

  • Minimum 3 years employment or volunteer experience in the areas above.

  • Ability to work independently and on various tasks simultaneously.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of education including government.

  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing tasks of others and to work with others on a job to achieve the best results.

  • Must be highly motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to speak to groups of people in a variety of settings.

  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and good judgement.

  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills. Flexibility with changing priorities and ability to remain focused to meet targeted timelines.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

  • Positive attitude; ability to take responsibility and be accountable; ability to deal with change in the workplace and be innovative; respect for others.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Ability to travel throughout Canada is required

  • A criminal record check is required.

  • Office or home office environment with some requirements to work outside of regular office hours. Some evening and weekend work required.

  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
