Job Description


The Development Coordinator will work closely with the small, collaborative team at RPSM Foundation, and be responsible for the administration of the office and help enhance and grow fundraising revenue to ensure that we meet our immediate and long-term financial goals to give the kids that need it most the chance of a music education that will help them succeed.  


Regent Park School of Music Foundation is responsible for raising funds, predominantly from individuals, foundations and corporations through mail campaigns, major gifts, planned giving and third party events to support the Regent Park School of Music’s programs. The Foundation generates over $1.5M annually


Data Management & Administration

  • Responsible for the accurate data entry of confidential donor information using GiftWorks
  • Ensure all gifts are properly recorded and coded in database and produce reports
  • Manage inventory and ordering of stationary and supplies
  • Responsible for organization of the RPSMF office - donor files and records
  • Serve as primary contact with all vendors


  • Responsible for accepting, processing and receipting of all donations
  • Prepare weekly bank deposit of donations
  • Responsible for credit card payment and filing and petty cash
  • Assist with audit preparations

Low-Mid Level Giving

  • Foster relationships and growth of annual giving, monthly giving, in-kind and instrument donation programs
  • Coordinate mailings to low-mid level donors (i.e. annual appeals, update letters)
  • Develop and grow online fundraising revenue
  • Develop and executive strategies to expand donor base

Third Party Events

  • Develop and grow third party events and encourage online fundraising
  • Work with existing third party events to support their efforts
  • Management and creation of online giving pages for third party events
  • Represent Regent Park School of Music Foundation at events as required


  • Act as staff support for the event
  • Responsible for all administrative support (mailings, tickets, lottery, silent auction, receipting etc.)
  • Responsible for event day volunteers (recruitment, training, supervision)
  • Coordination of the financial management of the event (e.g. donations, silent auction, raffle sales, final reconciliation and reports)

Prospect Research and Donor Stewardship

  • Work with team to provide support as appropriate

Website and Graphic Design

  • Responsible for updating the fundraising section on using WordPress
  • Creation and maintenance of online donation and fundraising pages
  • Creation of fundraising materials such as invitations, thank you cards, posters, PowerPoint presentations using Microsoft office applications


  • Responsible for the organization of Showcase Events (booking venue, ordering of food, tracking of RSVPs etc.)
  • Work with team to analyze donor data and trends
  • Perform other duties as needed


  • University degree or relevant post-secondary education
  • At least one year's work experience in a development office preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong coordination skills and attention to detail
  • Highly organized and process oriented
  • Positive, professional and diplomatic
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience with fundraising databases and standard computer software
  • Able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Flexible, with the ability to deal with sudden increases in workload
