JDRF is seeking a collaborative, organized and service-oriented National Coordinator, Development to support JDRF’s Donor Relations team which includes Major Gifts, Corporate Partnerships, Foundations, Stewardship and Planned Giving teams. This position reports to the Vice President, Donor Relations and is based out of our National Support Office (NSO) in Toronto.

The National Coordinator’s key accountabilities would include:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Donor Relations team across Canada
  • Maintain accurate donor information in Clearview (CRM) which may include complex pledges and gift agreements, mass action uploads, action settings, revenue tracking and pledge reminders
  • Record and track action items required for sponsorship, corporate contracts and agreements, foundation grants, major gifts, pledges, employee matched giving,  and planned giving activities
  • Create and update all major gift reporting and forecast information, as requested
  • Communicate items that may impact major donor or corporate partner relationships or donations, including informing regional teams of large gifts processed at NSO to facilitate local stewardship of donors
  • Ensure that contract deliverables are met and recorded, as per each agreement and escalate if deliverables may not be met
  • Act as a liaison for major gifts team to regional staff and SLT members, as needed
  • Acknowledge all sponsorships and pledges via e-mail, letter or phone; draft thank you letters, produce tax receipts and send pledge reminders and invoices
  • Process, code and track individual and corporate donations; process donation batches and related payments for major gift, planned gifts, foundations and national corporate accounts
  • In collaboration with the Finance department, reconcile gifts, accounts and fund allocations including special designations and restricted fund tracking
  • Support Major Gift Campaign Cabinet volunteers, including supporting meetings, as needed
  • Coordinate donor recognition activities (Holiday cards, event invitations, research and annual report mailings, etc.)
  • Support stewardship, major gift and planned giving teams with donor cultivation events

  • College diploma or certificate in a related discipline (ie: fundraising, database administration)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ related work experience; experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word and Excel) and using databases or a CRM product
  • Sound judgement with the ability to work independently and proactively seek solutions to issues as they arise
  • Service-oriented with the ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively present information in a concise manner
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain attention to detail while working on multiple competing projects and deadlines
