Job Description

The Sinai Health Foundation raises and steward funds to support patient care, world-leading research and innovative education at Sinai Health System by developing collaborative, long-term relationships across the community. The Foundation is about to launch an ambitious and exciting five-year strategic plan: Honouring the Past, Powering  the Future. We are looking for an industry leader to bring motivation and know-how to meet and exceed our Leadership and Annual Giving goals.

The Sinai Health Foundation is seeking a strong, energetic and persuasive leader to act as Executive Director Leadership and Annual Giving, part of the SHF senior leadership team. The incumbent will report directly to the CEO, providing overall direction, strategy and accountability for designated KPIs for  the Foundation’s annual and leadership gifts program.

As part of the Executive Team the successful incumbent will contribute to the overall success of the Foundation, participating in all areas such as planning, budgeting, investment, board and committee support and evaluation, to ensure seamless delivery of fundraising efforts.

The Executive Director, Leadership and Annual Giving responsibilities include development and implementation of tactics, in accordance with the strategic plan to meet designated KPIs in relation to annual and leadership giving, including developing and overseeing giving societies and  to grow the donor base and increase total giving. The Executive Director, Leadership and Annual Giving will work collaboratively with colleagues to foster the growth of best practices in the supporting areas of gift processing, data management and donor relations and stewardship as related to annual and leadership giving.

Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of a University degree in a relevant field from an accredited educational institution. CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) is an asset.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in fundraising including leadership and annual giving and working with volunteers.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in motivating staff and delivering projected outcomes.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication appropriate to a variety of circumstances involving donors and employees at all levels as well as individuals from other organizations.

  • Proven ability to work in a team and help reach consensus.

  • Demonstrated change management skills with a proven record of facilitating an environment of industry leading practices and standards.

  • Creative, analytical, detail-oriented with solid management and problem-solving skills.

  • An understanding of information systems; ability to interpret information to prepare meaningful constituency communications.
