For 30 years, REACH has been recognized as a critical support system for participants, families, partners and social service agencies that facilitate inclusive recreation, sport and arts opportunities for children and youth with a disability, across Ontario. The organization provides essential services to families and caregivers that include in-take assessments for participants, the training of 1:1 support counsellors, program training to meet the individual needs of each participant, and the arrangement of accessible transportation.



As Senior Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the organization’s annual fundraising campaign in association with the Director of Development. This position is planned as a succession position to the Director of Development who will be retiring from the organization. In addition to this role, the Development Team has a Director of Development, 2 - .5 FTE Fundraising Coordinators, 1 - .5 FTE Senior Grant Writer and 1 - .5 FTE administrative support person. Additionally, the Executive Director dedicates .25 FTE of her time towards fundraising.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • As part of the senior Development team, be accountable for achieving annual Team revenue targets of $2.6 million
  • Analyze existing fundraising strategies with a view towards effectiveness, viability, sustainability, and economy
  • Create and implement a diversified and dynamic annual fundraising campaign to support the organization’s overall operational plan; direct and evaluate the annual campaign to ensure effectiveness, timeliness and success of same
  • Work with the Management Team in the creation of fundraising goals, organization operational plans and inter-department relations/communications
  • Participate in strategic planning and fundraising goal setting
  • Design and implement new sponsorship packages for signature fundraising events
  • Mentor, develop and provide leadership to the Development staff in a positive and pro-active manner
  • Closely monitor existing partnerships in conjunction with the Director of Development and the Fundraising Coordinators to ensure relationships are strong and we meet/exceed our annual financial goals
  • Identify, cultivate, manage and solicit corporate, community-based and individual prospects
  • Develop and monitor budgets associated with all fundraising initiatives
  • Support the development of Signature and Third-Party Events to ensure maximum returns and expanded branding opportunities
  • With the Communications Department, advise on and implement improved marketing strategies to support both individual events and long-term agency branding goals
  • Develop tailored proposals, reports, donor agreements and communication strategies to ensure a high level of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Ensure communication strategies between departments are effective and open 
  • Develop networks and relationships with prospects for potential opportunities and strategic alliances related to revenue streams
  • Monitor external markets to identify new partnership opportunities
  • Supervise the updating and maintenance of the organizations database to ensure complete and accurate records of fundraising activities, participants etc.


Qualifications & Skills

  • A University Degree or relevant Community College diploma or combined equivalent skills and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years sales and marketing and or fundraising experience with a proven track record of success
  • Superior leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • An ability to motivate, supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, coordinating and analyzing multiple fundraising programs
  • Confident, competent and an ability to work well under pressure
  • An ability to prioritize and handle multiple concurrent tasks in a highly effective manner
  • Good judgement, diplomacy, sensitivity and tact
  • Strong creativity and problem solving skills
  • Strong sales and marketing skills with the creative ability to define ‘new’ avenues of fundraising
  • Sound knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and fundraising software
  • Be aware of and adhere to the codes of ethics regarding professional practices in fundraising, while at the same time developing leading-edge fundraising initiatives which benefit the financial position and enhance the reputation of the agency
  • Valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence
