As the scope of our agency continues to grow, we are looking to expand our Fundraising team to help us take the vision of the JCCs to the next level:

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer the Fundraising Events& Campaign Coordinator develops and executes new and innovative fundraising events for the JCC, capturing all sectors of potential donors The Fundraising Events & Campaign Coordinator also liaises with all the internal JCC departments and helps shape a fundraising lens to events being run by these departments, cultivating a culture of philanthropy. In addition, the Fundraising Events & Campaign Coordinator provides administrative support to the Chief Development Officer.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Develop new and innovative fundraising events to engage the community and create awareness around all the multi-faceted programs and services that comprise the JCC and will help it become known as the community hub in its area.

  2. Coordinate all aspects of these fundraising events including marketing, logistics, sponsorship opportunities,engagement, administration and follow up; ensure each event achieves its target impact and results.

  3. Engage and inspireJCC staff and volunteers in the event conception and execution.

  4. Liaise with internal JCC departments and help elevate the events they run and ensure a fundraising lens is present and all opportunities to make an 'ask' for the JCC is maximized.

  5. Seek and engage community partners and lay leaders to extend the reach and success of the JCC fundraising events.

  6. Build strong relationships with donors and potential donors, large and small.

  7. Develop and manage a donor and volunteer recognition program.

  8. Manage the Fundraising database.

  9. Provide administrative support and assistance to the Chief Development Officer, including committee presentations, minutes and reports; stewardship materials, internal and external communications; liaising with Marketing department on fundraising elements of the JCC web and social media platforms; grant writing and building cases for support.

  10. Foster an environment that enhances our staff, members and guests' Jewish journey.



  • University degree/diploma from an accredited university or college in event management, corporate communication, marketing, business management or related field.

  • Accreditation as a Certified Event Planner (CMP) will make you a preferredcandidate.

  • 5+ years in events management roles with an emphasis on events-based fundraising.

  • Experience in a not-for-profit organization an asset.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Database Management, Digital Marketing and Social Media skills

  • Experience with Fundraising Software (e.g. Blackbaud) an asset.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in donor research, cultivation, solicitation and management, proposal writing, gift processing and recognition.

  • Experience with grant writing an asset.

  • Knowledge and experience working with relevant foundations and granting entities.

  • Knowledge and adherence to fundraising professional's code of ethics.

  • Knowledge and experience with the Jewish community donor landscape and building community relations.

  • Valid Ontario Driver's License.
