Purpose of the Position

The SDO, Corporate Partnerships is responsible for fostering and soliciting new and existing multi-year gifts and sponsorships from corporate supporters in the achievement of the Foundation’s goals.  To be successful in this position, the candidate must be a senior energetic leader with a proven track record in soliciting major gifts and delivering results on an annual basis. The successful candidate will also be results oriented, possesses exceptional relationship management skills and is passionate about creating more resources for underserved children and youth. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Personally manage a portfolio of corporate donors ($20k+) conducting cultivation visits, solicitation calls and stewardship activities
  • Working with the Management team, contribute to annual and campaign fundraising strategy and planning
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit new prospects to raise incremental revenue
  • Develop comprehensive and creative corporate partnerships that are tailored to each corporate partner, and incorporate workplace giving and volunteer opportunities
  • Identify and foster new cause-related marketing initiatives
  • Implement recognition and stewardship programs to maintain, and increase donor involvement, interest and support of the Foundation
  • Work with senior/Campaign volunteers and the Board of Directors to identify and research prospects, prepare strategies and conduct solicitation calls
  • Ensure effective donor management organizational  frameworks and processes are in place – call Notes, Call Briefs, Raisers Edge Actions, Correspondence, Stewardship Activities
     

Stewardship:

  • Build and implement stewardship programs to nurture the donor’s involvement, interest and support of the Foundation
  • Assume major role in execution of Stand Up for Kids Night and Campaign activities


Raiser’s Edge:

  • Ensure donor files are maintained and updated accurately in a timely fashion
  • Ensure compliance with Raiser’s Edge operating policies and procedures
  • Ensure that department uses Raiser’s Edge system to its full potential to improve moves management


Other Initiatives:

  • Act as an Ambassador and attend events as required

Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of charitable sector experience, with more than 2 years in a campaign or corporate fundraising role or a comparable corporate role.
  • A track record of achievement of meeting and exceeding targets from diverse audiences and activities
  • Experience with cause-related marketing or sponsorship programs an asset
  • Experience managing staff and volunteer teams
  • CFRE accreditation would be considered an asset


Hours of work

  • Regular office hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Occasional evenings and weekends during busy periods
  • Vacation restrictions during busy periods
