In this role you will be responsible for the full scope of activities related to the cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship of a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors for The School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) at York University. This school is a future-focused art school whose mission is to foster the development of the creatively daring and highly skilled artists and scholars whose vision, discipline, and imagination will form tomorrow’s world – not just in the arts, but in management, engineering, health, education, and technology. AMPD is preparing tomorrow’s creative pioneers whose skills and talent will shape the future. You will work closely with the Dean(s)/academic leader(s) and the Advancement office to identify and qualify prospects and to strategically cultivate and solicit prospects and donors. You will develop strategies to promote loyal giving and to upgrade donor giving, personally solicits gifts (both independently and in conjunction with senior administrators and senior fundraising volunteers), and stewards donors. You will actively participate in planned giving, donor relations and stewardship, annual giving, alumni relations, and sound information management to advance York University’s cause.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

A university education or equivalent combination of education and fundraising experience, specifically in an educational setting. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation required (or demonstration that you qualify to complete the CFRE certification process which must be complete within 3 years of their start date). In addition, you will bring Minimum of 5 years’ experience in professional fundraising, with a focus on major gifts and with significant exposure to stewardship and planned giving. University fundraising and major campaign experience an asset.
