Digital Marketing / Fundraising Manager, Full Time, Permanent, Toronto

(This position is covered under CUPE Bargaining Unit)

This position plays a lead role in executing the strategy to grow and acquire new high quality monthly and one time giving donors. The Digital Marketing / Fundraising Manager works with the Director of Direct Marketing to operationalize, manage and analyse the effectiveness of marketing and donor acquisition initiatives to ensure acquisition and financial targets are achieved.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

                 Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

  • Contribute to the formation of the Digital and DRTV acquisition strategy for regular monthly donors at Save the Children
  • Ensure that all acquisition and financial targets are met across the Digital and DRTV channels.
  • Manage the implementation of the acquisition strategy for Save the Children’s Digital, Social Media channels and DRTV
  • Manage the Digital and DRTV acquisition budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Develop clearly defined metrics of success and support data collection and reporting
  • Working collaboratively with the Director of Direct Marketing and the Head of Communications, Media and Public Relations, and based on the acquisition strategy, develop and manage the plan to ensure donor acquisition targets are met through Digital, Social Media channels and DRTV (Direct TV)
  • Manage vendors to the responsibilities and metrics of success outlined in the contract and statement of work
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and quality of vendor services and/or support
  • Perform annual audits / review of vendors
  • Support vendor selection process through identification of requirements, development of RFP’s and selection process as required
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding acquisition and fundraising targets across the Digital and DRTV channels
  • University degree in related discipline such as digital marketing, fundraising, sales or the equivalent combination of experience and education required. Minimum of three years’ experience in the digital marketing, donor acquisition; Non-profit related work experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), experience using CRM systems; experience using Raiser’s Edge is an asset
  • Must have demonstrated success across several fundraising disciplines, for example Digital and DRTV
  • Knowledge and/or experience with child rights programming in areas of Health, Education, Child Protection, and Livelihoods an asset 
  • Digital Marketing & Fundraising Knowledge with strong Fundraising Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and
  • Proven and effective project management skills and proficiency in workflow planning
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to adapt existing processes
  • Ability and flexibility to manage and adjust priorities and timelines
  • Ability to work some evening and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel in Canada (approximately 10% of the year) and internationally as required (occasional)

  • Must adhere to Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding policy and protocols
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check screening
