Job Description

About Us:

The central challenge of our generation is to build sustainable and inclusive economies. In a context of deep and entrenched inequalities at the local and global scales and with a changing climate, the status quo trajectory of humanity is unacceptable. The stress is already felt across the world. Yet, despite the challenges, there are reasons to be hopeful and to mobilize for positive change. The social entrepreneurship movement, as well as disruptive technologies and a renewed engagement of advocates across the world together present a unique opportunity to create sustainable and inclusive economies. That is what EWB seeks to achieve. Our mission is to bring people and ideas together to address the most crucial causes of poverty and inequality. We are a global organization that combines leadership development, social enterprise investments and advocacy for policy improvements that deliver tangible impact in Canada and sub-Saharan Africa.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser, with major gifts as their core area of expertise and experience. The candidate will lead our Partnerships team and be a member of EWB’s management team. Our team invites and sustains inspiring partnerships with a great diversity of supporters, from individuals donors giving monthly, to philanthropists and family foundations championing our work with five and six figure gifts. The role of Director of Partnerships presents significant opportunity for growth in seniority within the organisation and will oversee directly our Major Giving portfolio, and provide management support to our Associate Director of Annual Giving as well as two Development Associates specialized in Donor management and Donor communications.

If you describe yourself as an ambitious, entrepreneurial and passionate partnership leader, and if you are excited to apply these skills to building engaged relationships with Canadian philanthropists for a great cause, you may be our ideal candidate. This position is your opportunity to join a diligent and committed team enjoying a base of strong relationships with long term donors, to have fun and champion a great cause, and learn with and from others.
