About the Position 

You will be supporting major gift and stewardship activities of the TFS Foundation, to enable the team to meet its fundraising objectives as it heads into the largest comprehensive campaign in the School’s history. The incumbent will be a key member of the Foundation team to work with staff and volunteer leadership on principal and major donor strategies  to providing effective research, preparation and proposal development for donor and senior volunteer meetings as well as overseeing strategic stewardship, recognition and donor relations activities that are integral to solicitation and retention strategies. You will be reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and will have one direct report, the Donor Relations and Events Coordinator


As an integral part of the Foundation team, you will receive mentoring and intimate exposure to individual major gift fundraising by being responsible for the following: 

  • Develop a stewardship and recognition program for the upcoming comprehensive campaign that will act as an incentive for new principal and major gift support and for the successful retention and renewal of all donors
  • Act as a key member of the team in developing individual solicitation and stewardship strategies
  • Work with the Donor Relations and Events Coordinator on the development and execution of the highest quality community and donor events
  • Assist in preparation for meetings with donors, senior volunteers and colleagues including: research reports, preparing meeting materials and presentations 
  • Prepare communication with donors, volunteers and colleagues such as: biographical profiles, briefing notes for meetings, meeting agendas, letters, reports and presentations, and proposals
  • Prepare prospect and donor research profiles  
  • Ensure maintenance of prospect and donor records in Raiser’s Edge, including records inputting, updating information, reporting and actions tracking  
  • Develop and implement a stewardship program including, a stewardship matrix, calendar of activities, execute on strategies and donor events
  • Oversee development of donor gift agreements and the execution of terms stated in the agreements
  • Arrange donor meetings and tours
  • Assist in supporting the Foundation Board of Directors and its committees in relation to Naming, Recognition and Donor Engagement strategies and policies
  • Project management and support of volunteer involvement in fundraising mini-campaigns under the comprehensive campaign umbrella
  • Support volunteers on follow up activities with potential donor  
  • Other projects/duties as assigned  

 

Due to the nature of the work, you may be asked to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant university degree and/or post graduate certificate (or equivalent) in fundraising or events management 

 

Required competencies:

  • Fluent in English
  • 5 years of experience in major gift fundraising, campaigns or donor relations 
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal)
  • Knowledge of French or Mandarin is a definite asset  
  • Ability to contribute to donor strategies through experience in major gift fundraising and stewardship
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge  
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and Google skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive)   
  • Excellent time management and project management skills  
  • Very well organized and detail oriented  
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment  
  • Adaptable to changing needs  
  • Works well independently and as a team player  
  • Proactive problem solver, solution oriented, displaying a sound decision-making ability with a positive "can do" attitude
