Reports to:  Manager, Strategic Partnerships

Position status:  Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Start date: as soon as possible

Salary: Level B on the MSF Canada salary grid, starting salary $53, 171 per year


POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Strategic Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Strategic Partnerships team through engagement, recognition and acknowledgement of MSF Canada’s largest donors. Reporting to the Strategic Partnerships Manager and working closely with Donor Engagement Officers, and other members of the Fundraising team, the Coordinator supports with the engagement, stewardship and administration of all Major Donors (Individuals and Family Foundations giving gifts of $10,000 CAD or more) and Prospects. The Strategic Partnerships Coordinator, in conjunction with the Strategic Partnerships team, maps and coordinates a comprehensive stewardship program, striving to exceed donor expectations and communicate MSF’s operations and values effectively.


 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategy and Compliance - Participate in the design and execution of the Strategic Partnership team’s Annual Plan 
  2. Solicitation, Cultivation and Stewardship - In collaboration with the Strategic Partnerships Team, produce cultivation, solicitation and stewardship materials aimed at securing and acknowledging transformational major gifts and gifts from MSF Canada donors and prospects
  3. Gift Administration - Regularly coordinate the acknowledgement and receipting of Major Gifts; Assist in the maintenance and updating of donor records on the database including contacts with donors, correspondence sent, thank you calls, event attendance, and meetings
  4. Other Assigned Duties - Assist with various duties related to fundraising, including providing support to other Philanthropy units as required

Technical Competencies Required

  • Demonstrated professional fundraising experience in roles supporting multiple people and projects
  • Track record of excellent customer service and ability to prioritize multiple requests
  • Experience and knowledge of relationship-based fundraising
  • Strong communication skills especially related to writing, proofreading and editing
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, e-mail and database management
  • Fluency in English/French required
  • Genuine interest in and commitment to Humanitarian Principles, and affinity with the Charter and Mission of MSF and Humanitarian Aid Sector.
  • Strong commitment to Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression practices and ethics
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, e-mail and database management
