Call for Expressions of Interest for Appointment to the AFP GTC’s Interim Board of Directors
The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Toronto Chapter (AFP GTC) seeks expressions of interest from members and non-members from the fundraising community who would like to serve on the GTC’s interim Board of Directors.
The interim Board is expected to be in place until December 2024. Among its immediate priorities will be to facilitate an Annual General Meeting, and to undertake a member consultation that will lead to the creation of a new strategic path forward for the AFP GTC.
Key attributes for being considered for appointment are:
- Demonstrable evidence of commitment to Justice, Access, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Reconciliation practices.
- Knowledge of and service to non-profit community organizations.
- Leadership experience gained either through voluntary work, or as an employee. Prior governance experience is an asset.
- Willingness to lead and contribute to a change management agenda, including rebuilding trust and confidence among AFP GTC members, and the broader fundraising community.
- Particular knowledge/ skills sought include finance and human resources, IT and database management, research and analysis, digital marketing, and communications.
We are specifically seeking expressions of interest from groups that have traditionally been excluded or underrepresented within the fundraising profession, including but not limited to people who are Black, Indigenous, Central, East, South, or Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern, North and Subhara African, Central or South American, Caribbean, and Pacific Islanders. Additionally, we invite applications from other marginalized groups including people of all faiths, LGBTQ2S+, differently abled people, and people with lived experience of mental health.

Successful applicants will be informed by Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Applicants do not need to be current members of AFP GTC, however, we require all successful candidates to become a member of AFP GTC if selected to join the Board. All candidates must reside or work in the Greater Toronto Area.
