The benefits of a diverse workforce are well documented and as organizations strive for greater diversity, ensuring that hiring practices are more inclusive, equitable, and provide increased opportunity for those in underrepresented and marginalized groups is paramount. Inclusive hiring requires an understanding of the barriers and biases that exist and planning your recruitment in a manner that supports a fair and equitable process for all candidates. In this session, we will discuss common biases faced throughout the hiring process and approaches to counter acting those biases. We will also discuss some of the tools and practices that can be used to address bias, aid in decision making, and help achieve more equitable hiring.
