Christie Chavez
Fully bilingual, Christie joined KCI in 2018, and since that time has provided project support in searches across Canada.
Christie brings excellent client-service experience and a strong attention to detail, thanks to her past work as a Tenant and Community Services Assistant at Toronto Community Housing, and also as Research Assistant at Food Banks Canada.
Christie has a passion for learning and has obtained a Bilingual Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from York University, Glendon Campus.
Christine Cho
Christine brings 18 years of non-profit leadership experience to our team, plus six years in advertising.
Most recently Christine spent three years with the Arthritis Society as Vice President, Direct Response Marketing. Previously, Christine held progressive leadership roles with World Vision Canada, worked with World Wildlife Fund and was an independent direct marketing fundraising consultant. Earlier, Christine worked in advertising for 6 years with firms such as J. Walter Thompson Interactive Division, MacLaren McCann, and Calexis.
Christine is an active volunteer, serving as member of the Chapter Support Committee with the Global Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto. She obtained her CFRE designation in 2020.
Samantha David
Mona IP
Mona is an accomplished professional with more than 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors. Mona is a social entrepreneur and board member with several non-profits. In 2016, Mona founded Communefamille, multilingual inclusive space designed for young children and their parents/caregivers, to reduce isolation, access resources and encourage “l’entraide”, serving hundreds of families over the last four years.
Previously, Mona worked as a diplomat in China, Eastern Europe and Ottawa with Government Affairs Canada. As Consul & Senior Trade Commissioner, Mona was responsible for promoting Canadian trade and investment objectives, as well as supporting provincial, territorial and municipal governments, and bilateral and grassroot organizations. Mona has also worked in Executive Search previously, working with Ray & Berndtson in Hong Kong and China. She also served as a volunteer on the Board of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce.
Mona holds a Master of Science in Development Studies from School of Oriental and African Studies from the (SOAS) at the University of London, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English Literature from Queen’s University. She is fluent English and French, functional in both Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese, and she also has working knowledge of Polish.

The benefits of a diverse workforce are well documented and as organizations strive for greater diversity, ensuring that hiring practices are more inclusive, equitable, and provide increased opportunity for those in underrepresented and marginalized groups is paramount. Inclusive hiring requires an understanding of the barriers and biases that exist and planning your recruitment in a manner that supports a fair and equitable process for all candidates. In this session, we will discuss common biases faced throughout the hiring process and approaches to counter acting those biases. We will also discuss some of the tools and practices that can be used to address bias, aid in decision making, and help achieve more equitable hiring.
