Juniper Locilento, MPNL, CFRE is Chief Development and Communications Officer for Community Food Centres Canada, where she is leading a $50M national campaign to build health, belonging, and social justice in low-income communities through the power of food. She has worked with more than two dozen charities in health & human services, education, and arts & culture as both a practitioner and consultant. 

Juniper is committed to advancing the profession of fundraising: she recently completed her Board service for the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada and AFP Greater Toronto Chapter and currently serves as Vice-Chair, Government Relations for AFP Canada. She was the lead author for Asking Matters, the case for AFP’s role in public affairs, and a co-author of AFP’s Fundraising is Awesome, a primer on the fundraising profession. Recently, she contributed to Rogare’s Advocating for Fundraising During a Pandemic, which was based on AFP’s new Canadian narrative for fundraising. She has also appeared before the Senate Special Committee on the Charitable Sector to speak about the role of professional fundraising.

Juniper serves as a lecturer and course developer in the Fundraising Management Program at Ryerson University, is a frequent conference presenter and a book reviewer for The Charity Report. She holds a Masters of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Carleton University.

Ken Mayhew is President & CEO of William Osler Health System Foundation. The Foundation has experienced its seventh consecutive year of significant revenue growth and is currently in a $100M Campaign supporting the redevelopment of Peel Memorial, Etobicoke General and Brampton Civic hospitals.

Prior to joining Osler, Ken spent 20 years with the MS Society of Canada and was responsible for all aspects of marketing, communications and fund development for a program with almost 1 million active donors, raising over $50 million annually.

Ken is Past President of the Greater Toronto Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is Chair Elect of AFP Canada. Ken’s ongoing sector involvement with AFP, Imagine Canada and the Rideau Hall Foundation includes helping to develop a narrative on the importance of philanthropy within the Canadian social fabric. As a part of this, Ken is a frequent sector spokesperson having done numerous podcasts and media pieces. In 2018 and 2019, Ken was interviewed by The Globe and Mail for articles on “Philanthropy: The true heart of Canadian culture” and fundraising in the time of COVID-19. 

Ken has been recognized with a CEO in Action award from the Diversity Journal for his work in inclusive fundraising and was deeply honoured to be selected as the 2019 Fundraiser of the Year by the Greater Toronto Chapter of AFP.
