York U's fully bilingual Glendon Campus is home to Southern Ontario's Centre of Excellence for French Language and Bilingual Postsecondary Education.

In this role you will be responsible to the Director for a variety of stakeholder engagement projects. You will play an important role in engaging alumni and donors to advance Glendon's mission, including alumni networks, events and communications.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:


A University degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations and/or Communications is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Equivalent education and experience includes college diploma in Marketing and/or Communications, Fundraising or Journalism, Public Relations plus 2 years practical related experience or four years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working in a University or academic setting performing the same or similar tasks.


You will also bring with you two years of experience in an Advancement Office or fundraising organization in administration and/or workflow/event coordination experience. Experience and knowledge includes: Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising and databases (such as Advance). You will possess an understanding of all aspects of philanthropy and donors. You will possess an understanding of the impact on business processes, as well as skill with interpretation and communication of requirements. You will have the ability to research, analyze and evaluate data to make recommendations. You will have oral and written communication abilities to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, to convey informational policies / procedures and donor information and present ideas in a focused and structured way, enhancing communication where appropriate. You will possess an eye for detail, spelling, grammar and accuracy in maintaining and verification of donor content and drafting documentation are essential, preferably in both languages. You will possess organization and time management abilities to work effectively under pressure of high volume and to efficiently plan activities and balance competing demands. Initiative and creativity to focus on, and strives for, continuous improvement to set high standards of performance. Ability to build and maintain relationships. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team with a stakeholder-centric focus. You will have the ability to exercise good judgment, tact, discretion and courtesy are essential, even in times of challenging and conflicting demands
