Job Description

The Toronto Artscape Foundation is looking for a fundraising professional with 4-7 years experience in managing a portfolio of donors, raising $250,000 a year and working closely with the valued group of senior volunteers that make up the Toronto Artscape Foundation Board of Directors. 

Suited for a fundraiser passionate about city building, the arts and ensuring that artists have financial support and access to tools and expertise to help sustain their career while living in a competitive and expensive city, this role is vital to the success of the Toronto Artscape Foundation. 

This role is responsible for fundraising gifts $75,000 and under, and supporting key initiatives that generate funds for the Toronto Artscape Foundation such as special events.  They are also responsible for administrative tasks as they relate to Toronto Artscape Foundation Board Governance, record keeping, funding applications and reports to the Toronto Artscape Foundation Board of Directors. 

Reporting to the Director, Fund Development, the Manager of the Toronto Artscape Foundation works closely with the entire Fund Development team, Executive Director as well as members of the Toronto Artscape Inc. team as well as other key stakeholders such as senior volunteers and board members. In addition, they contribute to and sometimes lead internal cross-departmental project teams as requested.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Fund Generation (45%)

  • Lead on sponsorships and gifts under $75,000 which includes developing proposals, crafting benefits and recognition strategies, pitching corporations and individuals at this financial level
  • Report to all donors at the $75,000 level and below which includes working with Artscape colleagues to gather information on the impact of donations at this level, compiling both narrative and financial reports 
  • Lead on creating and implementing an annual supplier campaign which raises a minimum of $25,000 for the Toronto Artscape Foundation’s general operating revenue 
  • Work with the team to develop strategies and adapt existing strategies to ensure regular stewardship of donors. This includes thank you campaigns, investor reports, email blasts, as well as new ideas for how we can keep donors and prospects informed 
 

Special Event Management (45%)

  • Manage all logistical aspects of the Toronto Artscape Foundation’s fundraising events well as securing event support, in kind donors and managing all administrative aspects of the event including supporting the Executive Director and staff in sponsorship/donation approaches 
 

Board Management & Reporting (10%)

  • Work closely with the Executive Director on preparing materials and reports for Toronto Artscape Foundation Board meetings 
  • Maintain accurate records for the Toronto Artscape Foundation including reporting for all grants dispersed by the Toronto Artscape Foundation 
  • Work closely with the Executive Director in preparing T3010’s and ensuring the Foundation is in compliance with CRA regulations 
  • Accountable for monitoring and maintaining funder reporting schedules, including financial reporting, and ensuring requirements are met or exceeded 
 

Other 

  • Participate in the planning of annual and longer-term fund development strategies 
  • Maintain a high degree of motivation, superior work ethic, attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement consistent with the culture of the Fund Development team 
  • Be an informed member of the Fund Development team and make creative connections between and among people, events and programs and their associated circles to increase revenue, donor and sponsor bases
  • Participate in the planning of annual and longer-term fund development strategies
  • Assist Executive Director with departmental work plans
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4-7 years fundraising experience 
  • Formal education in fundraising an asset 
  • Past success in creating, launching and monitoring successful fundraising campaigns 
  • Understanding of the charitable landscape including CRA regulations
  • Event coordination and execution experience 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office 
  • Experienced in relational databases and/or CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce 
  • Proven track record working with senior volunteers
