Donor Database Analyst (Raiser’s Edge)

Since 1981, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto has served as a place to call home for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment. RMHC Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and seven Family Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. The families we serve – 4,735 last year alone – come from throughout Ontario, across Canada and around the world.

We are looking for a Donor Database Analyst to join our team in Toronto.  

About the opportunity:

The Donor Database Analyst (Raiser’s Edge) provides oversight, planning, and technical expertise for Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and related applications/services.  This includes assessing and improving processes to ensure system and data security, reporting on fundraising activities and outcomes, compliance, data integrity, user training, implementation of new Raiser's Edge modules, and liaising with various departments on technical and data related projects.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop Raiser’s Edge NXT Business strategy that supports, enables and tracks fundraising goals;
  • Analyze data to ensure accuracy, data quality, and recommend process changes if required;
  • Monthly and ad hoc report development to track the effectiveness of major gift fundraising and the moves management cycle;
  • Collaborate with internal teams and other end users to create, implement, and document functional best practices for event management, moves management, reporting, and analytics; understand user needs and provide the tools to access data on demand;
  • Responsible for database integrity and security when working with  Blackbaud services and external vendors;
  • In collaboration with the Donor Database Administrator, enter, verify, code, reconcile and balance all gift data for timely and accurate processing and tax receipting;
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Donor Database Administrator to ensure new or imported data and updates are accurately uploaded to Raiser's Edge;
  • Provide an organization-wide source of expertise on Raiser’s Edge to support donor data and ensure users have the best possible information for effective decision making and accessing data;
  • Create and implement a user training program and documentation. Provide on-going technical support to RMHC Toronto’s Raiser's Edge database and NXT users;
  • Work with third party vendors to implement, monitor, and troubleshoot product integration and software issues;
  • Work with the Marketing & Communications team to create and maintain online donation pages, including troubleshooting when problems arise;
  • Create and implement a user training program and documentation. Provide on-going technical support to RMHC Toronto’s Raiser's Edge database and NXT users;
  • Special projects and other related duties as required.

If you have the following background & qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. Raiser’s Edge database management certification an asset;
  • 3-5 years’ relevant gift processing and database management experience including designing reports and queries;
  • Advanced skills with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (database view & NXT) or similar fundraising software;
  • Experience with Blackbaud NetCommunity for Raiser’s Edge & Crystal Reports;
  • Experience working with donation platforms (i.e. Luminate, Classy, Raisin, Engaging Networks, etc.);
  • Accurate and detail-oriented style, thrives in a fast, dynamic culture;
  • Solid organizational skills and information systems skills;
  • Advanced MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
  • Strong knowledge of prospect research and moves management protocols;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and work in a team-based environment;
  • Ability to work independently to tight deadlines while balancing multiple and sometimes conflicting demands from various stakeholders;
  • Effective problem solver with initiative to be innovative and creative with solutions;
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and reporting ability;
  • Commitment to data integrity and confidentiality;
  • Knowledge of donation and receipting processing and CRA regulations.
