This is a Volunteer position to sit on the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Toronto Chapter Board.

Over the past two plus years our sector has been challenged and it is important, now more than ever, for us as Fundraisers to come together to support one another and the profession. By joining our Chapter’s Board of Directors, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and shape your professional association and in doing so, create a positive impact for the sector at-large.

The Board of Directors oversees the strategy, business, and brand of the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter as it relates to our Strategic Plan, policies and membership needs. We are the largest AFP Chapter in the world and our Board currently has twenty-one members.

We’re looking for members who have a strong commitment to the fundraising profession through service to AFP, other professional associations and the community at large. These attributes, together with demonstrated leadership skills that reflect the communities we serve, will all be considered by the Chapter’s Committee on Directorship. Those candidates selected for an interview should be prepared to discuss their interests in and potential contributions to the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter and the broader sector community.

The nominating committee encourages all interested candidates to apply. All candidate applications will first be reviewed by the Board Governance committee with all identifying information removed, in an effort to eliminate any unconscious bias, in accordance with our statement of diversity and inclusion. Selected candidates will be moved forward for interviews. We work to ensure that all interested parties have genuine, open and unhindered access to volunteer and career opportunities, free from any barriers, systemic or otherwise.

All applications will be reviewed by the Chapter’s Committee on Directorship and are scored based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative key indicators developed as part of a Board skills matrix.

After completing the application form, which can be found here. Please e-mail a copy of your resume for consideration to Tracy Blyth, Interim Executive Director, AFP Greater Toronto Chapter at tblyth@afptoronto.org.
