Sunnybrook is a premier academic health sciences centre, fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, with a vision to invent the future of health care. Today, with 1.2 million patient visits each year, Sunnybrook has established itself across three campuses and is home to Canada’s largest trauma centre.

Our mission is to care for our patients and their families when it matters most. Sunnybrook Foundation exists to raise awareness and funds required to ensure that Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre achieves its mission.

As the Foundation embarks upon a three-year growth plan, it is seeking a collaborative, inquisitive, and organized team member to serve as a Business Analyst. Working under the Manager, Analytics & Reporting, the Business Analyst will work with various teams throughout the organization to support the Foundation’s expanding business and intelligence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

  • Engage and consult with stakeholders to elicit key requirements, business needs and process workflow
  • Clearly identify, evaluate, articulate and document business requirements and functional needs
  • Identify business systems or workflow efficiencies and ways to improve and/or simplify processes
  • Identify resource requirements for successful implementation of new processes or system changes

Training

  • Identify gaps in training and awareness as related to rollout of projects
  • Develop training plans and materials or user guides, and provide training to end users when implementing new processes, reports, system functionality or features
  • Support change management in various formats (documentation, workshops, remote) to ensure adoption

Leadership

  • Manage project and build relationships among all stakeholders and third-party resources to ensure project success
  • Provide guidance and support in best practice business processes, identify and recommend strategies and solutions
  • Identify issues with respect to projects and ensure items are tracked and resolved in a timely manner
  • Report on project progress and escalate any risks to key stakeholders

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships
  • Effective facilitation, negotiation, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical, detail oriented, and organized approach to work
  • Effective time manager with the proven ability to manage multiple priority projects
  • Strong investigative, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio
  • Proven capabilities in project and user-testing management
  • Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation
  • Strong technical acumen. In-depth knowledge of CRM databases, particularly Raiser’s Edge or Financial Edge, is considered an asset

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) designations are considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business analysis, project management, or operations or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to effectively use MS Office suite software at an intermediate level
