Coordinator, Development
Reports to: Executive Director, Development & Alumni Affairs
Trinity College is a vibrant and diverse academic community with a rich history

2,000 currently registered students, 450 of whom live at the College. Trinity
College grounds comprise spectacular historic buildings, and the College is among
the smallest and most prestigious colleges on the St. George Campus of the
University of Toronto. Trinity’s campus currently consists of four main buildings
and is located in the central Toronto downtown core, steps from the Bloor-St.
George subway and Queen’s Park.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Development & Alumni Affairs, the
Coordinator, Development is responsible for providing support to all program areas
as part of the College’s Living Trinity Campaign. The incumbent will work
collaboratively with development team members to meet revenue goals, steward
donors, and engage volunteers and alumni in the life of the College
Key responsibilities (but not limited to):
Development Activities
• Support development team members, senior leadership, and volunteers by
coordinating meetings and calls with prospective and current donors
• Draft and coordinate meeting materials such as agendas, briefing documents,
minutes and reports for distribution as needed.
• Ensure major gift donors are stewarded and recognized in a timely manner in
accordance with gift agreements, contracts and policies.
• Coordinate prospect identification and donor research through the Division of
University Advancement for development team
• Generate regular monthly and one-off reports from ARBOR database and
donations tracking for staff and volunteers including the Campaign Dashboard
Report
• Help develop proposals for major gift solicitations by gathering content from
faculty and staff of the College
• Provide support to gift planning program by drafting correspondence related to
estate administration and legacy giving and coordination of Gerald Larkin
Society activities
• Assist with solicitation in support of the Trinity Fund by pulling data from
ARBOR database and preparing mailings and reports as required
• Record solicitation and stewardship activity on ARBOR database for identified
prospects including solicitation plans, prospect interactions, communications
and event attendance
• Provide support to the Development Committee and Campaign Cabinet
including meeting coordination, preparing meeting materials, minutes and
executing follow up as required
Communications and General Duties
• Coordinate email communications and invitations using list management tools
such as Mailchimp and platforms such as Eventbrite and others as needed
• Assist in creating content for social media accounts relating to donor stories,
alumni events, general activities and initiatives
• Responsible for bi-weekly team meeting including a call for agenda items,
distribution of meeting materials, and follow up actions
• Provide support to the Executive Director tracking ongoing prospect activity in
ARBOR; liaise with DUA Prospect management team on a regular basis
• Undertake to establish a comprehensive knowledge of Trinity College, including
its history, traditions, current academic offerings, academic support and
student life
• Serve as an Ambassador for the College, consistently and convincingly
demonstrating the role of philanthropy and importance of private sector support
• Perform other duties as required
Hours of Work
Normal daytime hours of work Monday to Friday
Occasional requirement for overtime or to be on-call evenings and/or weekends if
special events are taking place.
Experience:
• Post-Secondary Graduate or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
• At least three years of experience in fund development, fundraising, and/or
administration
• Experience working in an association or not-for-profit environment is
considered an asset
• Demonstrated ability to provide support in fund development activities in the
not-for-profit sector and in fund development planning
• Demonstrated experience in dealing with a variety of key stakeholders including
members, colleagues, volunteers, board of directors, etc.
• Superior writing skills
• Experience with databases and/or CRMs, including extracting reports, list and
data manipulation
• Event planning experience
• Experience with minute taking an asset
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Working knowledge of content creation for social media platforms such as
Instagram and Twitter
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is considered an asset
