We are currently seeking a driven, strategic, passionate and goal-oriented Coordinator, Philanthropy to effectively manage and maintain all areas of Harbourfront Centre’s Individual Giving campaign.

Summary of Function
The Coordinator, Philanthropy will manage all aspects of Harbourfront Centre’s Individual Giving Campaign for donors under $1,000 including the acquisition of new Individual and Family Foundation donors, renewal of current supporters, targeted acquisition appeals, upgrading strategies, on-site giving campaigns, donor stewardship, and other administrative tasks. This position is responsible for writing all donor communication pieces including donor newsletters, appeal letters, brochures and web text, as well as the research into Family Foundations and the creation of proposal templates for foundation funding. This position will also oversee the daily processing of solicited donations and coordinate fundraising appeals, events, and stewardship activities in conjunction with Harbourfront Centre’s year-round programming.
Duties
- Works with Development team to develop strategies for approaching individual donors to achieve revenue targets. Activities include annual individual giving areas such as direct mail campaigns, telemarketing, and online fundraising appeals.
- Conducts research for the purpose of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with prospective and current individual donors.
- Works to develop consistent and appropriate messaging for all donor communications, including appeals, letters, scripts, and response mechanisms.
- Assists with the planning and execution of donor events.
- Pro-actively manages individual donor lists, including event guest lists and data pulls.
- Ensures all individual donor recognition commitments are fulfilled.
- Ensures donor pipeline progress monitoring is completed, including tracking of fundraising performance for the Individual Giving portfolio.
- Ensures timelines are met forall tasks, including submission deadlines and reporting requirements, deployment of fundraising campaigns, and delivery of design pieces.
- Performs other duties in support of the Development department as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years progressive fundraising experience with a proven track record of successful relationship and revenue development.
- College/University degree in Fundraising Management or related discipline is an asset.
- Demonstrated success in donor development planning, proposal writing, donor solicitation, and stewardship.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building-skills, and natural ability to exert influence, develop personal and effective working relationships and inspire confidence and trust in donors, leaders, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, consensus-building, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent computer skills and a proficiency in working with a database to track and analyze data; experience with donor management systems (Tessitura) an asset.
- High level of technical literacy in the Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Committed to ongoing professional development.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.

- This role is based in Toronto. While we are currently accommodating employees on a work from home arrangement due to COVID-19, all employees will be expected to return to work at our lakeside gallery when directed to do so.
