POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Corporate and Foundations Development Officer is responsible for contributing to the collective fundraising efforts of our Development Team, enabling the organization to raise funds to support our programs, equipment, and capital needs.
The successful candidate will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a comprehensive pipeline of corporate and foundation prospects and donors, with a focus on securing gifts $5,000+. This team member will demonstrate excellent communication skills, with a strong knowledge of the moves management process and the ability to effectively close gifts.
Our organization follows a hybrid work model. The chosen candidate will work from our Provincial office in Toronto and their home office. They will attend cultivation/stewardship events and donor meetings across the GTA as required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and manage a pipeline of 50-75 corporate and foundation donors ranging from $5,000-$50,000;
• Research, develop and coordinate foundation grant proposals and applications in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy.
• Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy to develop targeted solicitation strategies, customized proposals, sponsorship packages, briefing documents, grant submissions, and presentations to secure corporate and foundation gifts.
• Actively participate, alongside the Director of Philanthropy, in prospect clearance and pipeline development, in collaboration with internal team members and key stakeholders.
• Work with the Communications Team on the design and production of any marketing and communications materials for corporate and foundation donors.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and up-to-date information is reported on a weekly basis through our Raiser’s RE7 system;
• Monitor funding opportunities and agreements to ensure that sponsors and partners receive appropriate benefits and recognition, and obligations are fulfilled.
• Maintain grants tracking of submissions, responses and results.
• Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• A University Degree or College Diploma in a related field;
• Minimum 3+ years of fundraising experience;
• A track record of personal success in securing gifts over $5,000 and contributing to overall revenue targets;
• Ability to independently research, develop and manage a robust pipeline;
• Superior written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey a compelling case for support to new and diverse audiences;
• Excel in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities;
• Extensive donor database experience preferably RE7, along with a high proficiency with Microsoft office.
• Unlimited access to a reliable vehicle and valid Driver’s License.
• Experience and contacts within the philanthropic community in the GTA are considered an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours as required, including occasional evenings or weekends based on project/event priorities.
• Successful completion of a Police Background check

• Flexible Hybrid Schedule (occasional weekend and evening work required)
