CORPORATE AND FOUNDATIONS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
The Corporate and Foundations Development Officer will support and enhance all corporate and foundation fundraising goals. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Officer will research key and prospective corporations and foundations, with the goal of supporting meaningful relationships and securing immediate and long-term philanthropic partnerships.
Working collaboratively with the development team, the Officer will lead prospect identification and pipeline management for corporate and foundation activities. The Officer will work with the Director of Philanthropy to ensure strategic integration of fundraising programs, to best leverage strengths and enhance collective impact.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of corporate/foundation prospects and donors to support goals and plans for the organization.
- Research, develop and coordinate foundation grant proposals and applications in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy.
- Design and lead prospect identification activities with key internal and external stakeholders to review, research, coordinate and develop personal engagement and solicitation plans for all identified corporate and foundation prospects.
- Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy to develop targeted solicitation strategies, customized proposals, sponsorship packages, briefing documents, grant submissions, and presentations to secure corporate and foundation gifts.
- The Officer will work with the Director of Philanthropy to support and partner with volunteers, key members of the Board, and other stakeholders when appropriate.
- Support the Director of Philanthropy and the Communications team on the design and production of any marketing and communications materials for corporate and foundation donors.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with the broader Development and Communications teams to help inform and engage them in the fundraising process related to corporate and foundation giving.
- Ensure key donor and prospect data and information is properly recorded, tracked, monitored, and evaluated in Raiser’s Edge (RE7) database.
- Ensure proper analytics are consistently provided to corporate and foundation donors as agreed.
- Achieve fundraising targets for corporate and foundation portfolios.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or community college diploma in a related field or equivalent background in fundraising.
- Knowledge of CRA charitable guidelines and adherence to AFP Code of Ethics.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in corporate and/or foundation giving.
- Proven history of achieving/exceeding targets in the area of corporate and foundation gifts at the $5,000 + level.
- Demonstrated ability in proposal writing and with developing corporate donation/sponsorship packages.
- Experience with employee engagement programs, event sponsorship, and cause marketing campaigns.
- Extensive donor database experience preferably RE7, along with a high proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles and values of Easter Seals Ontario.
- Superior communication, interpersonal skills and proposal development skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong customer service-oriented approach complemented by excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to use sound judgment and to always maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience and contacts within the philanthropic community in the GTA are considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required, including occasional evenings or weekends based on project/event priorities.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Hours of Work & Working Conditions
- Flexible Hybrid Schedule (occasional weekend and evening work required)
- Successful completion of a Police Background check
Salary: $50,000 – $60,000
