The Team
The Finance & Corporate Services team is accountable for the Foundation’s financial management, information management and reporting, investment management, tax and regulatory compliance, monitoring and reporting on overall performance, stewardship and recognition, customer service, legal, risk management, gift processing, grant management, data analytics and management, office operations/administration and human resources functions.
The Position
Reporting to the Director, Donor Experience & Business Analytics, and the Database Coordinator has the primary responsibility of maintaining and managing the organization’s donor information within the Raiser’s Edge database with over 165,000 records. This position will ensure that all donor records are complete and accurate with a focus on data integrity. This includes data entry, managing data imports and extraction, creating and maintaining data structures, troubleshooting, and providing training to staff on key areas of the database. The Database Coordinator will participate in the creation and running of queries and exports as well as the development and documentation of policies, business rules and controls to ensure that data hygiene is obtained. To assist with fundraising and stewardship activities, the ability to review data and provide insightful information will be imperative. This role is a resource for the entire Foundation team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in database management in a known, professional fundraising environment (hospital experience preferred)
- Super User of Raiser’s Edge/NXT
- Blackbaud Certification in Raisers Edge/NXT considered an asset
- Proficient in the use of corporate productivity tools including Excel and Word
- An understanding of Importomatic (Omatic) would be advantageous but not essential
- Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communications and project management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to engage with technical and non-technical audiences
- Positive attitude, ability to work effectively with multiple deadlines, and in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders at all levels; capable of exercising independent judgment and flexibility
- Keen understanding/reasoning behind processes for benefit foundation-wide
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
