Sheena’s Place strives to provide a community for individuals with Eating Disorders, and their families and friends. We offer free and timely group-based services in a warm and welcoming space, both at the House, and online. We’re also deeply invested in raising awareness among the general public and increasing the capacity of those in helping professions to provide ED-informed support. In this role you will collaborate with other team members to engage in:
- Developing and Executing Fundraising Strategies:
- Collaborate with the development team to create and execute comprehensive fundraising plans aligned with our annual goals.
- Leverage your expertise to identify new funding opportunities and diversify revenue streams.
- Lead Generation (Prospect Research), identifying potential donors, and crafting tailored cultivation plans toward successful funding requests, and to expand fundraising opportunities.
- Major Gift Cultivation:
- Cultivate relationships with major gift donors, nurturing their commitment to our cause.
- Craft compelling proposals and presentations to secure significant gifts.
- Foundation Partnerships:
- Engage with family foundations, emphasizing our unique programs and impact.
- Prepare grant applications and reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Event Fundraising:
- Contribute to fundraising events, both virtual and in-person, to engage our community and raise funds.
- Innovate and explore creative event concepts to enhance donor participation.
- Email Campaigns and Digital Fundraising:
- Optimize our existing email campaigns while exploring new strategies.
- Collaborate with our communications team to create compelling content that resonates with our supporters.
- Donor Stewardship:
- Implement effective stewardship practices to retain and deepen donor relationships.
- Express gratitude and provide regular updates on the impact of their contributions.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with colleagues across departments, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Contribute to the overall success of our organization through teamwork and shared goals.
- Grant Writing:
- Identify granting opportunities that align with SP’s mission and values
- Lead and/or support application processes
- Liaise with board of directors, as required
- Other tasks as required
We’re looking for someone with the following interests and skills:
- Passion for Our Mission:
- A genuine commitment to supporting individuals affected by mental health disorders in general and eating disorders specifically.
- Demonstrated capacity to advance issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Fundraising Experience:
- 3 or more years of proven success in fundraising in multiple streams (major gifts, foundation relations, and event-based initiatives).
- Innovative Mindset:
- Eagerness to explore new fundraising techniques and adapt to changing trends.
- Strong Communication and Leadership Skills:
- Ability to articulate our mission compellingly through written and verbal communication.
- Organizational Skills:
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative Spirit:
- Thrives in a team-oriented environment and values collaboration.

- Annual salary: $70,000 – $80,000
