About the Opportunity:

We currently have an opportunity for a Development Officer, Corporate Partnerships to join our team in Toronto, ON, on a full-time, permanent basis. 

Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday (with periodic work on evenings and weekends at events and committee meetings) 

Reporting to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer, The Development Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with corporations to secure funding through various means such as grants, philanthropic gifts, and sponsorships, aiming to meet revenue targets by managing a portfolio of around 100 prospects. This role involves implementing a corporate partnership strategy to support Casey House’s healthcare programs, pursuing new partnerships, and ensuring ongoing donor engagement through excellent stewardship and collaboration with medical and volunteer partners. Under the Chief Development and Marketing Officer’s guidance, the officer leads corporate fundraising efforts by preparing and submitting detailed grant and sponsorship proposals to generate necessary revenue.

More specifically, your responsibilities in this role will entail, but are not restricted to:

  • Identify and cultivate new corporate donation prospects and develop/maintain a corporate giving grant pipeline
  • Research new corporate giving opportunities with both a short-term and long-term view of revenue generation
  • Develop and lead innovative cause marketing and employee engagement programs and pitch those programs to prospects
  • Work collaboratively with relevant hospital clinicians to gather data for proposals and reports
  • Organize corporate volunteer days for corporate donors and sponsors
  • Maintain and renew relationships with corporate partners – involve them in the hospital through tours, volunteering, events, hospital updates, etc.
  • Monitor the market environment to identify new corporate opportunities for both giving and sponsorship
  • Maintain a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and stewardship reports
  • Acknowledge and ensure business receipt of all donations and sponsorships 
  • Identify and cultivate new corporate sponsors and develop a corporate sponsorship pipeline
  • Establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with key corporate sponsorship stakeholders
  • Design innovative corporate partner activations that support a partner’s needs
  • Participate in the development of marketing and communication materials to support corporate partnerships and brand enhancement
  • Prepare and present pitches and proposals for all Casey House events
  • Oversee recognition and benefit fulfillment
  • Maintain a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and stewardship reports
 About You:

To qualify for this role, you must have 5-7 years of related work experience in a similar role, specifically within relationship sales and grant writing experience with a demonstrated history of successfully asking for and securing donations greater than $50,000.

The following skills and qualifications will also be required: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability in writing and creating compelling proposals and stewardship reports
  • Prior experience engaging, training, and inspiring volunteers, committees, and boards
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to find business development opportunities
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, and strategically minded
  • Excellent ability to manage time with multiple competing deadlines
  • Experience managing data with the ability to manage and track major gift activity and pull reports
  • Ability to work independently, communicate at all levels with confidence, and exercise sound judgment, tact, and confidentiality to clients, donors, volunteers, staff, and the public
