POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Director, Development and Alumni Relations, the Development Officer, Leadership Giving will play a key role in St. Lawrence College’s fundraising efforts, including prospect qualification, and donor cultivation and stewardship for gifts $1,000-24,999.

The incumbent will work with the Alumni and Development team to execute a data-driven fundraising strategy with the goal of steady and sustainable pipeline growth. The Development Officer, Leadership Giving, will be an advocate for philanthropy at the College and in the community, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage donors in support of the College’s philanthropic priorities, including student awards and bursaries.

The Development Officer, Leadership Giving, will be an experienced relationship manager familiar with digital, phone and face-to-face fundraising practices. A successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional teamwork focus, strong time management and organizational skills, and will demonstrate a commitment to SLC values.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a 2-year diploma or post-graduate certificate in Fundraising or Volunteer Management.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in prospect identification, solicitation, stewardship, and with demonstrated success in meeting revenue targets.

  • Proficient with computer applications (MS Office Suite) and fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge)

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location and work temporarily from a remote location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college’s Telework Policy.

SALARY & TERMS

  • Admin Group:      Pay Band 8: $66,909 to $83,635 per annum, commensurate on education and experience. In addition to the salary, the position is eligible for pay for performance
  • Hours per week:  37.5
