The Opportunity
As the Director of Corporate Partnerships, you will manage a portfolio of top corporate major gift donors, foundations and prospects and work closely with the other department directors as well as senior volunteer leadership to achieve revenue goals. You will lead a team of corporate philanthropy professionals to ensure that individual and departmental fundraising goals are achieved and exceeded, as well as support the development and implementation of cultivation and stewardship plans to ensure successful solicitation and completion of agreed upon deliverables in a timely fashion.
Your leadership and relationship-building skills will be instrumental in fostering a culture of philanthropy, building meaningful connections with donors, and positioning Pathways as a top philanthropic choice for corporations and foundations nationwide.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement the strategy for acquisition, renewal and upgrade of corporate major gift donors.
- Meet annual portfolio and team goals and collaborate with other directors as needed
- Manage senior volunteers to meet revenue targets through effective: orientation, call management, preparation and strategy development, follow-up.
- Ensure deliverables as outlined in agreements with corporate partners are met in a timely fashion, as well as develop new opportunities to deepen employee engagement and/or internal and external awareness.
- Develop and grow a pipeline of major gift corporate prospects and donors and lead moves management process.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to gain alignment and make progress toward shared, organization-wide objectives.
- Translate organizational objectives into achievable, milestones in which to measure individual and team success.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of fundraising professionals, fostering growth and achieving team performance goals.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of fundraising experience with demonstrated achievement and leadership in key aspects of fund development especially: Closing major corporate and foundations gifts, campaign experience; donor relations and communications; volunteer relations and, measuring fundraising performance.
- A university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution and Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred.
- A deep commitment to the mission of Pathways to Education and an understanding of the transformative impact of education.
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills including experience in goal setting, motivating, leading, coaching, evaluating and developing a capable team of professionals.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and present compelling donor proposals and reports and deliver presentations to various audiences.
- Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, particularly senior volunteer leadership.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Solid proficiency with donor management tools like Raiser’s Edge and an ability to use data effectively to inform strategies.
- Proficiency in both English and French is an asset.
